 Question:

In their advertising, business nowadays usually emphasise that their products are new in some way.

Why is this? Do you think it is a positive or negative development?


My answer:

Business nowadays relies on innovation to keep their products likeable for the consumers. That is the reason why many advertising claim that the product has something new to offer. Prime example is the rise of google who at first appear on internet or search engine like yahoo, now turn as provider for many digital needs and eventually leading the browser market share. The spirit of innovation can also be found at apple. Which almost every year release a new model to keep their customer engaged. While this advertising promote consumerism. I believe there are more advantages of it rather than negative impact.

Advertising is created to attract buyers to buy more. With showcasing a new innovation, advertising become more appealing, and it triggers users to buy more. For wealthy customers, new model of the products mean it is time to buy again. This lead environmental exploitation not only from material extraction but also waste production.

However, this natural degradation can be avoided if the production and consumption is responsible by implementing eco-friendly procedures. Promoting something new contribute much to our economy. As every product has a lifetime. The need of new products is just unavoidable. Good advertising result revenue growth that eventually provide jobs for people. Discovery of a new products is what makes our civilization differ from other species as humans is gifted with creativity and minds. Finally, by allowing company to innovate, it provides bunch of options for customer that resulted the competition of quality as well as price. This will be helpful not only those who have money, but also those who lack of financial capability.

In conclusion, emphasizing something new at advertising has more benefit than drawbacks.

  Question: The diagram below shows the process for recycling plastic bottles. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. Answer: The flowchart illustrates the process of plastic bottles recycling. In general, the process of recycling involves at least 9 steps from collecting the bottle all the way to ready to use products such as fabrics or a new plastic. It all starts from waste bin where all waste is collected. The content of waste bin is carried using truck to recycling centre where waste is sorted according to its type. At this point, plastic bottles are collected then compressed into blocks to ease the transportation. These blocks then transported to another plant where the plastic blocks are crushed and washed. This makes plastic clean and smaller in size that ready to be used as ingredient of producing plastic pellets. In order to create raw material, the plastic pellets are heated to from in a special shape.
